Blade blunt and marksmanship.
Oblivion no weapon sound. Last edited by vox. This page only lists the base unenchanted weaponry available in oblivion. I can find almost nothing for this problem. So i modded oblivion a bunch and all is well.

This can be especially annoying on laptops where buying a new sound card is not an option so the only workaround that exists is to turn on subtitles. Free to distribute wherever. Except certain sound effects are missing or just not playing including weapon striking and the drum roll of skills increasing. In some cases the only solution may be to buy a new sound card.
I m having a strange issue with sound effects in oblivion. Damage and speed of a weapon is determined by its strength the material it is made of the weight and the skill of the character wielding it. Any time i swing a weapon the sound effect for the impact does not play. When i hit something like a wall with my weapon it doesn t make any noise.

All other sound effects and music work fine including the sounds npcs make when they are hit. Oblivion can be extremely picky about sound processing on both high end sound cards and low end on board sound. Whenever i draw my weapon it does not make any sound same if i sway around with it or shoot arrows with my bow. A weapon is a piece of equipment that can be used to deal damage to any person or creature.
Blade and blunt weapons come in both one handed and two handed varieties whereas marksmanship bows can only be used with both hands. Over the past year i have tweaked and adjusted these sounds to my own tastes and i now think they are ready for global use.
